HC Deb 21 February 1945 vol 408 c811W
Mr. Kirby

asked the Minister of Food whether he will, before the summer arrives, arrange for industrial canteens to be allocated supplies for making ice cream on an equal basis with hotels, restaurants and cafes.

Colonel Llewellin

No supplies are allocated to catering establishments for the specific purpose of making ice cream. Industrial canteens, like hotels, restaurants and cafes, may provide ice cream to the extent that they have ingredients available other than those specified in the Use of Milk (Restriction) Order, 1941.
