asked the Minister of Agriculture the output of carrots produced in this country in 1914, 1924, 1934 and 1944; and, in view of the growing recognition of their dietetic value, what steps are being taken to augment the output.

With regard to the second part of the Question, the present acreage is substantially larger than the pre-war acreage, and is regarded as adequate to meet requirements.
