§ Captain Draysonasked the Minister of National Insurance if, in view of the reduction of interest rates and the increase in the cost of living, he will increase the capital sum which is calculated to produce an income of 6d. per week when assessing means for the purpose of supplementary pensions.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsThis change, which I do not think is required in present circumstances, would necessitate legislation. I would point out that the income attributed to capital taken into account by the Board was substantially reduced as recently as 1943 by the Determination of Needs Act.
