§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will now release an undergraduate, details of whose case have been submitted to him, who has obtained permission from Liverpool University to resume his studies if he can obtain release from the Services.
§ Mr. LawsonThe selection of students to be released under Class B is made by the Universities themselves, within the total numbers laid down, and names must be submitted by them to the Minister of Labour and National Service for transmission to the Service Departments. So far, the name of the man concerned has not been sent in by the Ministry of Labour and National Service. We are not empowered to deal with direct applications to the War Office, and I suggest that the case be taken up again with the Liverpool University.
