§ Mr. Thorneasked the Secretary of State for War whether the German soldiers are still occupying Guernsey and Jersey; how the people are being treated; and if the German soldiers have been called upon to surrender.
§ Mr. A. HendersonThe German garrison is still contained in the Channel Islands. No information has been received by the War Office which suggests that the behaviour of the German garrison to the civil population is other than correct. The German garrison has been given the opportunity to surrender, but has not accepted.
