§ Mr. Hepworthasked the Minister of Health if, in view of the uneasiness of men serving overseas at the lack of some definite start in the building of houses, he will make provisions so that private 1969W builders who have land, material and labour which cannot be sent to the London area, may have permission to relieve this difficulty.
§ Mr. WillinkThe arrangements which are being made for providing more dwellings in the immediate future and subsequently were explained in the statements made on behalf of the Government in the Debate on the Address on 7th December.
§ Sir W. Smithersasked the Minister of Health whether he will give consideration, with a view to meeting the shortage of houses consequent on bombing, to houses of the owner-occupier type.
§ Mr. WillinkIf, as I presume, my hon. Friend has in mind the building of houses by private enterprise, I would refer him to the statement I made on 13th July last, of which I am sending him a copy.
