HC Deb 21 December 1944 vol 406 c1968W
Mr. Hepworth

asked the Minister of Health why a subsidy is being paid on houses built or sanctioned in Northern Ireland; what is its amount; and why this or some definite amount cannot now be fixed for houses to be built in this country.

Mr. Willink

The provision of housing in Northern Ireland is a matter for the Northern Ireland Government. I understand that the subsidies proposed in Northern Ireland have been related to the basis of subsidy in force in Scotland since before the war. As regards the second part of the Question I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Attercliffe (Mr. Hynd) on 7th December last.
