HC Deb 23 September 1943 vol 392 c424W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will give full consideration to the increasing volume of registrations and the work it entails and the large numbers of personnel needed to carry out this work; and whether, in view of the favourable development of the war and the improbability of the registrations ever being made use of, he will consider rescinding the arrangements which were under contemplation, with a view to saving both time and labour?

Mr. Bevin

The volume of work entailed was fully considered before these arrangements were made. The war situation is such that there can be no slackening off in the organisation of all our manpower resources.
