HC Deb 23 September 1943 vol 392 cc409-10W
Mr. R. Morgan

asked the Minister of Health whether, in connection with the White Paper which he proposes to introduce with regard to the medical aspects of the Beveridge Report, he will provide a list of those organisations, in addition to the medical profession, from which he received evidence and representations with regard to the matters with which the White Paper is to deal?

Mr. E. Brown

I have had preliminary discussions on the question of a National Health Service with representatives of the medical profession, local authorities and voluntary hospitals. A number of other organisations have communicated with me on the subject. I made it clear, however, that when the White Paper is published I shall be ready to receive from organisations and persons interested any representations which they wish to make in the light of their study of the Paper. It would therefore, I think, be misleading to publish at the present time a list of those organisations who have communicated with me in advance of the Paper other than those whom I especially invited to enter into preliminary discussions.
