HC Deb 22 September 1943 vol 392 c241W
Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Minister of Supply whether he intends requisitioning the considerable amount of timber at present used for hoardings all over the country; and what is the estimated quantity available?

Sir A. Duncan.

While no precise estimate of total quantity can be given, a careful test examination has shown that the amount of usable timber that could be obtained by the removal of hoardings would not justify the expenditure of labour and effort involved.
