§ Mr. Hannahasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can give the House an assurance that when peace is restored this country will not be handicapped by lease-lend in the trade of the Western Hemisphere?
§ Mr. DaltonYes, Sir. I am sure my hon. Friend does not intend by his Question to belittle the great benefits received by this country under lend-lease. It is the view of His Majesty's Government that neither the United Kingdom nor the United States should gain any advantage in world markets at the expense of the other by reason of sacrifices made in the interests of the effective prosecution of the war.
