asked the Minister of Supply why, under the provisions of the Emergency Powers (Defence) Salvage of Waste Materials Order (S.R. & O., No. 1200, of 1943), there is a provision governing the movement of kitchen waste from Northern Ireland and certain counties in the North of Scotland to other parts of the United Kingdom?

Article 5 of this Order was included to prevent traffic in un-boiled or concentrated kitchen waste between areas subject to price control and uncontrolled areas, except by licence.
