HC Deb 13 October 1943 vol 392 c895W
Mr. Levy

asked the Minister of Supply why, under the provisions of the Emergency Powers (Defence) Containers and Packaging Order (S.R. & O. No. 1217 of 1943), the Imperial Tobacco Company is given a privileged position as compared with other tobacco manufacturers?

Sir A. Duncan

The Imperial Tobacco Company are, by agreement, acting for the whole trade and there is no question of their being given a privileged position as compared with other manufacturers.
