HC Deb 12 October 1943 vol 392 c727W
Mr. Tinker

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that in the Tyldesley area of Leigh parliamentary division the colliers cannot have their clogs repaired singly, they must have the pair done or none; that this is causing hardship as it means double the cost and wastes material and labour; and will he have inquiries made to see if this waste can be remedied?

Mr. Dalton

I am aware that it is the practice for clogs to be repaired in pairs, but I am looking into the matter in the light of my hon. Friend's Question.
