§ Sir A. DuncanNo, Sir; in accordance with accepted professional standards, medical officers in the Ministry's service are solely responsible for diagnosis and treatment, including the administration of dangerous drugs. The nurses act under the instructions of the medical officers.
§ Mr. Messerasked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware of the disquiet which exists in an Ordnance Factory, the address of which has been given him, at the unsatisfactory state of affairs in connection with the factory medical service; and whether the medical officer in charge is subject to the authority of the superintendent or assistant superintendent on matters connected with the medical service?
§ Sir A. DuncanThere have been certain difficulties in the medical department of the Royal Ordnance Factory referred to and action is being taken to remove them. The medical officer in charge is on the staff of the superintendent and is responsible to him for the discipline and administration of the medical department. On technical and professional matters he is responsible to the chief medical officer at headquarters.
