HC Deb 06 May 1943 vol 389 c329W
Sir A. Baillie

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in connection with the nursing profession, he has taken into consideration the fact that qualified nurses may hesitate to qualify as midwives in case they are compelled to take up midwifery instead of being allowed to practise general nursing and will he give an assurance that they will be allowed to practise both sides of their profession?

Mr. Bevin

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply which I gave him on 14th April on this subject.
