HC Deb 25 March 1943 vol 387 c1788W
Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what special arrangements were made between the Treasury and the banks and other institutions to enable large sums of money, which would not otherwise have been available, to be contributed to the London "Wings for Victory" campaign?

Sir K. Wood

Sir R. Gower

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider intensifying the "Wings for Victory" campaign in each town visited by enemy aeroplanes?

Sir K. Wood

The conduct of each "Wings for Victory" week is in the hands of the local savings committee and I am sure that the committees in the raided towns are most anxious to "hit back with war savings." The headquarters of the savings movement will give them every encouragement and assistance in the campaign.
