HC Deb 09 March 1943 vol 387 c631W
Mr. Groves

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware that many citizens are suffering great inconvenience from the fact that medical practitioners are severely restricted in their movements owing to shortage of petrol; and whether he will consider giving greater quantities in order that they can carry out their public duties with the full degree of efficiency?

Major Lloyd George

No, Sir. Medical practitioners are already granted sufficient petrol to enable them to discharge their essential medical duties. When a medical applicant is dissatisfied with the allowance made to him by the Regional Petroleum Officer, the facts of the case are placed before the Medical Liaison Officer or, exceptionally, the local Medical War Committee, whose conclusion is implemented.
