asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food what amount of capital expenditure on British Restaurants was approved and what amount reimbursed to local authorities during the year of account, including December, 1941?

During the financial year ending 31st March, 1942, schemes for British Restaurants were approved involving an estimated capital expediture of £1,050,000 and a sum of £317,895 was reimbursed to local authorities. In addition, the supply of equipment to a value of approximately £330,000 was authorised through the Ministry's pool.
