HC Deb 21 July 1943 vol 391 cc920-1W
Mr. Ross Taylor

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the forthcoming reduction in the amount of plain chocolate avail- able for sale, which may render it difficult or impossible for next-of-kin to purchase it for inclusion in their parcels to prisoners of war and is the only foodstuff which may be included in such parcels, he will make arrangements whereby the Red Cross and St. John War Organisation may be enabled, on the request of the next-of-kin, to send a greater quantity of chocolate than is at present permitted?

Mr. Mabane

I do not anticipate that the next-of-kin of prisoners of war will experience the difficulties which my hon. Friend expects.
