HC Deb 04 February 1943 vol 386 c1068W
Mr. Driberg

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of restaurants, cafes, etc., at which a house charge is allowed to be made and the amount of the charge in each case?

Mr. Mabane

The publishing of such a list as my hon. Friend suggests in the OFFICIAL REPORT would involve more expenditure of man-power and paper than would be justified. I shall, however, be happy to place a detailed list in the Library, as soon as it can be completed. In order that the public should be aware of what they may be required to pay each establishment entitled to make a house charge is required to exhibit a notice containing details at its entrance.
