HC Deb 03 February 1943 vol 386 c906W
Mr. Lipson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Warfare whether His Majesty's Government will follow the precedent set in the case of Greece and allow a limited amount of food to be sent to the conquered countries of Europe under Nazi domination for distribution, under proper safeguards, among the child population?

Mr. Foot

No, Sir. It was made clear at the outset, and has been restated on several later occasions, that the Greek relief scheme is a wholly exceptional measure, taken in view of the unprecedented conditions in that country.
