HC Deb 03 February 1943 vol 386 cc906-7W
Mr. Higgs

asked the Minister without Portfolio whether he is aware that the work of the Birmingham Reconstruction Committee is being considerably delayed because of lack of information from the Government as to the financial basis of post-war schemes; and will he take steps to see that such information is made available at the earliest possible date in order that those municipalities considering their post-war schemes shall not be held up for lack of information as to the financial responsibility the Government is prepared to accept?

Mr. H. Strauss

I have been asked to reply. I would refer the hon. Member to the statement which my right hon. and learned Friend, the Minister without Portfolio, made on this matter in the Debate on the Address on 1st December, 1942, to which my Noble Friend has at present nothing to add.
