Mr. De la Bèreasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food why, in view of the fact that shopkeepers can be, and are, fined heavily for imposing conditions of sale in order to do their best to make a profit, the Ministry of Food infringe their own regulations as regards the British Restaurants, whereby conditions of sale are imposed in connection with goods purchased and taken away?
§ Mr. MabaneMy attention has been called to the refusal of a local authority to sell the sweet course alone at a British Restaurant for consumption off the premises. My Noble Friend is advised that to refuse to sell is not an infringement of the Food (Conditions of Sale) Order.
