§ Mr. W. Brown
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give instructions to all Departments that, where Departmental committees are set up to consider the more effective and econo- 180W mical use of staff, the associations should be given direct representation on such committees?
§ Sir K. Wood
The composition of Departmental committees is a matter which must be left to the discretion of the head of the Department concerned. I have no doubt that every Department is fully conscious of the importance of utilising the experience of the staff when manpower problems are under consideration.
