asked the Secretary of State for War whether he can give any information as to where the 1/5 Sherwood Foresters were last fighting; under whom they were serving; and what happened to the unit after the surrender of Singapore?

The 1/5 Sherwood Foresters were captured at the surrender of Singapore on the 15th February, 1942. They formed part of the 18th Division commanded by the late Major-General M. B. Beckwith-Smith, D.S.O., M.C. No information is available with regard to the unit after the surrender of Singapore.
