§ Mr. Kirbyasked the Minister of Supply how many women are employed part-time 527W at a Royal Ordnance Factory in the North-West, the name of which has been supplied to him; whether he is satisfied that no more can be employed or that no more are available, or whether he will take steps to compel the factory management to conform with the wishes of the Government and the needs of the nation as to the full utilisation of part-time labour?
§ Mr. AsshetonThere are no part-time women employed in this Royal Ordnance Factory. The chief difficulty is the distance from the women's homes and the fact that half time work might not justify the transport involved. I am, however, looking into the matter in view of the great importance of part-time work.
