HC Deb 17 November 1942 vol 385 cc205-6W
Mr. Wootton-Davies

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he has taken the power at any time to enter any industrial factory or undertaking and ascertain whether they are in his opinion complying with the instructions for economy in fuel?

Major Lloyd George

Yes, Sir. In so far as any industrial factory or undertaking is affected by any order made by me in relation to economy in the use or consumption of fuel, for example, the Waste of Fuel Order, 1942, a power of entry and inspection of such premises is conferred on persons authorised by me in that behalf with a view to securing compliance with the Order.
