HC Deb 17 November 1942 vol 385 c206W
Mr. Ness Edwards

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware of the unsatisfactory canteen arrangements at the Bargoed steam and house coal collieries, Glamorganshire; that the workmen have been agitating for over 12 months to get some improvement; and if he will take the necessary steps to deal with this grievance?

Major Lloyd George

The need for improving this canteen is recognised. The local miners' welfare officer has already taken the matter up with the colliery canteen committee, which includes representatives of the workmen, and he is awaiting the committee's response to his proposals.
