HC Deb 26 March 1942 vol 378 c2182W
Mr. E. Walkden

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he can now make any pronouncement as to the terms and permitted conditions by which servicemen in dance orchestras and concert parties may in future accept civilian engagements for entertaining the general public; and what action he has taken to deal with the evidence remitted to him during the past four weeks?

Mr. Sandys

I have been making thorough inquiries into the cases to which my hon. Friend drew my attention. As a result, I have reached the conclusion that a considerable tightening up of the existing regulations is necessary. A revised Army Council Instruction is now in the process of preparation. I will inform my hon. Friend when it is issued.
