HC Deb 26 March 1942 vol 378 c2182W
Sir L. Lyle

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he will lay upon the Table the most recent orders issued to the home Forces about avoiding waste of petrol?

Mr. Lipson

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War what effective steps have been taken by the Army authorities, in view of the restrictions being imposed on the civil population, to put an end to the wasteful use of petrol?

Mr. Sandys

I would refer my hon. Friends to the statement I made on this subject in the Debate on the Army Estimates on 19th February last, of which I am sending them copies. The relevant orders are contained in a number of Army Council Instructions, which it is not customary to make public.
