asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport approximately, what proportion of first-class sleeper berths has been allotted to officers in the Forces travelling on trains to the North of England and Scotland since the instruction withholding such accommodation from officers below a certain rank?

Of the total number of first-class berths allocated by the Ministry of War Transport on trains to Newcastle and Scotland about 20 per cent. have been allocated to members of the Forces. I regret that information about berths booked by members of the Forces direct from the railway companies is not available.
