HC Deb 04 March 1942 vol 378 c658W
Sir T. Moore

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Warfare whether any offers have been received from Allied countries to supply food for Greece; and what steps are being taken to facilitate early shipments.

Mr. Foot

Yes, Sir. A cargo of 2,300 tons of flour has been offered from the United States for Greek relief. In view of the exceptional urgency of the need in Greece, His Majesty's Government and the United States Government have agreed to permit the passage of this supplementary cargo through the blockade. As regards supplies from Turkey I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply which I gave yesterday.
