HC Deb 04 March 1942 vol 378 cc658-9W
Squadron-Leader Fleming

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will consider the advisability of issuing to the personnel of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force a more convenient type of container than the present cumbersome kitbag which is usually carried on the shoulder?

Captain Balfour

The standard form of kit-bag was adopted for the W.A.A.F. only after careful consideration and I am advised that no alternative form of container is likely to be equally satisfactory for its particular purpose.
