HC Deb 30 June 1942 vol 381 cc52-3W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will look into the case, details of which have been sent to him, of the confidential secretary of a consulting physician, who also fills an important position in the Emergency Medical Service and on the staff of several hospitals, whose calling up would dislocate the work of this physician, which is of national importance; and whether he will allow an exemption in this case?

Mr. Bevin

The case to which my hon. Friend refers has been reconsidered by the District Man-Power Board and it has now been decided not to withdraw the woman in question from her present employment.
