asked the Minister of Production what steps he is taking to put an end to gaps in contracts or eliminate favouritism in the allocation of materials and so prevent workers hanging about or going home?

The Supply Departments are well aware of the need to secure continuity of orders whenever possible. I am also arranging through the Regional Organisation, for the early notification of prospective gaps in production, so that steps may be taken to avoid them. There is no favouritism of which I am aware in the allocation of materials.
