HC Deb 11 June 1942 vol 380 c1256W
Mr. Mander

asked the Minister of Supply whether he will consider the advisability of taking steps to prohibit prestige advertising during the war in the interests of economy and saving of paper?

Mr. Peat

There is already a limitation on the proportion of space that may be used for advertisements of any kind in newspapers and periodicals. My right hon. Friend does not propose to prescribe the types of advertisements which shall be inserted in the space available.
