§ Mr. Wilson
asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state, for the last three months, the number of cases which have been heard by local tribunals in which conscientious objectors have been awarded air-raid precautions or Auxiliary Fire Service or land work, or continuing in their own occupation or any other types of work?
§ Mr. Bevin
During the three months ended 30th April, 1942, 658 men and 14 women were ordered by local tribunals to be registered as conscientious objectors on condition that they undertake work of a civil character and under civilian control. Separate statistics relating to the type of work ordered by the tribunals are not available.
