HC Deb 21 July 1942 vol 381 c1414W
Mr. J. Griffiths

asked the Secretary of State for Air, who is responsible for the appointment of chaplains in the Air Training Corps; and whether these appointments are made from all the religious denominations or only from the Established Church?

Sir A. Sinclair

The responsibility for the appointment of honorary chaplains in the Air Training Corps rests with the squadrons themselves. Appointments are made from the various denominations and not only from the Established Church. The Chaplain-in-Chief of the Royal Air Force and the Royal Air Force Staff Chaplains in charge of the various denominations are available at all times for consultation, and squadron authorities are advised to consult them before making appointments.
