HC Deb 12 February 1942 vol 377 cc1593-4W
Mr. Wootton-Davies

asked the Chanchellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that the owner of certain dwelling-houses in Heywood, which under a clearance order were demolished since the war commenced, but before the War Damage Insurance Acts, 1941, was passed, has received a demand for payment of war insurance premium on the property although it was not in existence on 1st January, 1941; and whether he must still pay the war insurance premium in respect of the demolished property, or whether relief is given to persons owning property which has been demolished in similar circumstances?

Sir K. Wood

If my hon. Friend will send me particulars of the properties to which his Question relates, I will gladly have inquiries made and will communicate with him as soon as possible.
