§ Mr. Parkerasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food what are the functions and personnel of the various advisory committees attached to his Ministry?
Major Lloyd GeorgeThere are 48 advisory committees assisting the Ministry of Food. The function of these committees, which consist generally of members of the various branches of the food trades, is to make available to the Ministry the advice and experience of their members, more particularly in regard to plans which the Ministry is proposing to put into operation affecting the particular trade concerned. If the hon. Member will indicate any particular aspect of the Ministry's work on which he desires information, I will arrange for him to be supplied with particulars of any committee which has been set up to advise the Ministry thereon.
