§ Mr. Rileyasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether, with a view to affording full opportunity to the general public of informing themselves of the daily proceedings in the House of Commons, he will arrange for at least one copy of Hansard to be made available, free of charge, to all public libraries in Great Britain and the North of Ireland?
§ Captain CrookshankNo, Sir. I think that the concession under which any public library can have Hansard at half price, i.e. only £1 a year, is a sufficient inducement to those libraries which find there is local interest in verbatim reports of Debates.
