HC Deb 06 August 1942 vol 382 c1230W
Mr. Kennedy

asked the Secretary of State for Air what allowance of travelling time is given to men of the Royal Air Force serving in the Orkney and Shetland Islands proceeding on leave to the mainland in view of the fact that at least four days are spent in travelling?

Captain Balfour

The leave of personnel proceeding from the Orkneys or Shetlands is only reckoned from the time of disembarkation on the mainland to the time of embarkation from the mainland on the return journey.
