HC Deb 06 August 1942 vol 382 cc1230-1W
Mr. Touche

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that although farm land leased by Mr. E. Hiscock near a certain aerodrome has been in the possession of the Air Ministry for over two years, Mr. Hiscock has not received any requisition or compensation; and, in view of the dilatory and unsatisfactory manner in which this matter has been handled, will he take steps to secure an early settlement of this question and similar cases in the same district to which his attention has been called by letter?

Captain Balfour

Entry on land belonging to Mr. Hiscock has now been regularised by the service of notices under Defence Regulation 50. and as soon as final requirements are known, the necessary requisitioning notices will be served. A claim was received from Mr. Hiscock on 8th July and instructions have been issued to make him a payment on account. I regret the delay which has occurred in this and the other cases referred to and action has been taken to effect settlement as early as possible. I am also looking into the reasons for the delay in these cases.
