HC Deb 11 September 1941 vol 374 cc344-5W
Sir W. Jenkins

asked the Minister of Health if he will take steps to instruct the Welsh Board of Health to prepare a scheme for unifying the water supplies of Glamorgan so that cities, towns, villages and rural areas shall be adequately provided for after the war?

Mr. E. Brown

The primary responsibility for seeing that their areas are adequately supplied with water rests with the individual local authorities, but where improvements are required I am always prepared to stimulate joint action if it seems appropriate. So far as I am aware supplies in Glamorgan areas are generally adequate. If my hon. Friend has in mind areas where there is a likelihood of shortage after the war I shall be happy to have the matter looked into by the Welsh Board of Health.
