asked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that 7046211 Fusilier Albert Cooke, of Station Road, Handsacre, Rugeley, was admitted into the Army on 13th August, 1940, with a medical category A 1 and has now been discharged as medically unfit; and will he see that an adequate pension is paid to this man?

Mr. Cooke was not discharged as medically unfit but on account of his services being no longer required, and no previous application has been made to my Department. His documents have now been obtained from the Record Office and as soon as the investigations into his case are completed I will write to the hon. and gallant Member.

asked the Minister of Pensions how many applications he has received since 31st July, from officers and nurses, in respect of war-service grants?
