HC Deb 04 July 1940 vol 362 c1022W
Mr. Lyons

asked the Minister of Supply what steps have been taken to utilise on the war effort the skilled services of woodworking firms throughout the country?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

The Ministry of Supply are using such woodworking capacity as their limited requirements necessitate. This, however, is only a small proportion of the total capacity available. The general question of the utilisation of spare capacity in this and other industries is one of the tasks of a committee, of which I am chairman, of the Production Council.
