HC Deb 21 February 1940 vol 357 c1376W
Mr. Boothby

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what has been the response of the fishermen to the latest appeal for their services; and whether the Admiralty has now revised the opinion expressed by successive boards, prior to the war, that no use could be found either for fishermen or for their craft in time of war?

Mr. Churchill

The response of the fishermen to our latest appeal has been more than satisfactory, and we are greatly indebted to them.
