§ Mr. Parker
asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that there is considerable discontent at the high rates of postage charged for sending parcels to men serving with the Forces; and whether he will consider introducing special cheap rates for this purpose?
§ Major Tryon
As indicated in my answers to the hon. Members for Burnley (Mr. Burke) and Stoke-on-Trent (Mr. E. Smith) on the 2nd and 3rd October, I am reviewing the whole question of the postage rates charged on parcels for members of His Majesty's Armed Forces serving overseas in consultation with the 195W Service Departments concerned. I hope to be able to make an announcement on the subject shortly.
