§ Mr. ShakespeareInformation concerning the rates of pay and other service conditions of naval ratings is given in a brief form in recruiting pamphlets which are obtainable free of charge by interested persons. More detailed information, covering also the rates of pay and pension and conditions of service of officers, is contained in the Appendix to the Navy List which is published twice a year in June and December and is on sale to the public.
